Hate it when you have no heat and everyone wants it you to buy a new furnace or spend $400+ on work you don't need. The fix may be simple and takes just a few minutes. I my case $10.88, 5 min and 3/8" wrench. Your furnace may be different. If your pilot light does not work you may want to try re-lighting it or replacing the thermocouple. If you smell gas call a professional! This is a do at your own risk project! One guy quoted me $400 another told me I needed a $1500 replacement furnace another told me to try the thermal couple. Honeywell 36" thermocouple @ Ace Hardware $10.88 it was worth a try and worked!
